What I am enjoying about motherhood in this season

-a Greensboro-based photographers perspective on this current season of life.
The current season my boys are in
My 4 year old has exploded with his personality and has been wanting to learn by doing things on his own. I have become more of a teacher with him than I ever have been. It's been so joyful to see his brain thinking through more complex concepts and grasping more about life.
He has this joy for life that is contagious, and I have loved including him in on daily life things (like our garden). He is a talker, loves to socialize, and is extroverted to the t. I can always count on him to make a new friend wherever we go.
My 1 year old is so cheeky and such a show-off. He loves to be watched while he learns new things. While he is not yet walking, he LOVES to climb, take things apart (and put them back together), and making dinosaur noises. He is a boy of few words, and lots of action!
The joy the Lord gives
I was in the car today driving to our local farmers market, and listening to worship, a specific line stood out to me in the song "Goodness of God."
"All my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God"
My boys are a blessing, and they are an answered prayer. I am creating the family I have always wanted, and I get to learn more about Gods love for me, through my children.
The Gifts of Motherhood
The sickness snuggles
The light in my house making play look like magic
The sticky fingers
The independence of my 4 year old
Being my 1 year olds safe place
The fullness of our home filled with noise
The imagination of my 4 year old
The bond between brothers growing
The quiet crouch of my 1 year old as he plays
Sleepy mornings where we hang out in our pajamas
The hand-me-down clothes
The growth spurts
No matter how big they get, their hands still fit in mine
Childhood is fleeting, and it happens in the blink of an eye. I am savoring the longer summer days to come!
