I got a call at 11:55 am on Labor Day that mama was in labor and contractions were every 5 minutes. I carefully crept out of bed not to wake my husband and got ready to drive 30 minutes to my clients home to capture her home birth. 15 minutes away, I get a text from her doula saying "things are getting pushy." My heart speeds up and 3 minutes from the home, I get a text that baby was born.
Precipitous labors are wild and walking into the home with mom and baby still attached, watching each other and taking it all in, was a treat.
What a beautiful way to go into labor on Labor Day and deliver within 3 hours in the comfort of your home. I'll take that labor any day š
